Power Play: ECG Disconnects Energy Ministry Over Unpaid Bills

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disconnected power supply to the Ministry of Energy over the non-payment of accumulated debts. The move comes as part of the ECG's ongoing efforts to recover unpaid bills from defaulting customers.

According to reports, the Ministry of Energy owes the ECG a substantial amount of money for electricity consumption over a prolonged period. The debt has been accumulating for several months, and the ECG has now resorted to disconnecting the Ministry's power supply as a last resort to recover the debt.

The disconnection of power supply to the Ministry of Energy has caused some inconvenience, as it has affected the smooth running of some of the Ministry's operations. However, the ECG has stated that it is open to dialogue with the Ministry to resolve the issue and restore power supply as soon as possible.

This development serves as a reminder to all customers, including government institutions, to pay their electricity bills promptly to avoid the inconvenience of power disconnection. The ECG has encouraged customers to take advantage of its flexible payment options and to seek assistance if they are unable to pay their bills on time.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Energy has assured the public that it is working to resolve the issue and restore power supply as soon as possible.
