Let’s count our blessings in these difficult times – Akufo-Addo tells Ghanaians

During Ghana's 66th Independence Day Anniversary celebration at Adaklu in the Volta Region, President Akufo-Addo urged his fellow citizens to focus on the positive aspects of the country's economic challenges. He pointed out that the situation could have been worse, citing the lack of fuel queues, food and essential item shortages, and power outages, commonly known as dumsor.

President Akufo-Addo also reassured the gathering that his administration was committed to finding solutions to the economic situation, including securing a staff-level agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a $3 billion bailout.

Ghana gained independence from British colonial rulers on March 6, 1957, following a long and arduous struggle in which many Ghanaians lost their lives. Each year, the country commemorates its independence on March 6th with a celebration focused on the theme of national unity, strength, and purpose.
